It is Slow Sunday Stitching. And my Hospital Sketches block 2 has indeed been in slow stitching. I started it in beginning of March and now we are allmost in the end of June. I didn't like the original block but I liked a lot of fern like leave so I decided to make two of them instead of one. And after that my problems began.
Original flowers didn't fit properly and I made three alternative flowers until I found the one I liked.
And finally block 2 is done and I have learned to love it.

Rikka, I think your block 2 is lovely. Love those fern leaves and the flowers are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThank you! In Barbara brackman's design for this block the fern was the one I loved. i just had to make two of them..
DeleteYour block is beautiful. I love those flowers.
ReplyDeletethank you! I tried three different flowers for this block and I think these were working best. I used similar ones last year In Esther Aliu's Bom Queen's Garden.
DeleteYou are adding your own creative touches to the project!
ReplyDeleteLovely!
Thank you! In the earlier posts in her blog Barbara Bracman wrote how to add or diminish things in blocks and I just love to add more applique. I'm not very good in quilting so I don't want to have a lot of empty fabric in my blocks.;)
DeleteI love how you are making this your own with those added touches and modifications. It is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you! In the beginning I wanted to alter Hospital Sketches blocks a little bit, but this block had its own plans. It took allmost four months to finish mostly because I didn't want to use stitch ripper ;)
